I am building a 8x68s.

What is a good all round deer and hog bullet from 170 to 220 grains ?.

I was thinking about one of the hot cores.

200 grs Nosler Partition or the same weight Nosler Accubond. These are the "do it all" bullets in 8mm - providing they shoot in your rifle.

Fatboy 404:For me, in boars and red deer, the Nosler Balistic tip in 180 grs.has worked fine. The 200 grs. Nosler Partition has been too hard with no expansion. Now I am loading some 220 grs. Woodleighs for Afrikan plains games,hopping to test them in a couple of weeks.

Swift A-Frames here in Australia are about $125 for 50 projectiles so a bit dear if hunting a lot.
I can buy Woodliegh's for about $55 for 50.

So the 200 grain projectiles aren't to soft and distroy themselves ?.

I have certainly not tried all Woodleigh bullets, even less so in all calibers. What I have seen of them, tended to go in the direction of very large expansion with high weight retention. If that fits what you are looking for - e.g. on smaller game where penetration is less of an issue - I'm sure they would be a viable option for you. The Woodleigh 196 grs RN shoots decently in my 8x64S - about 1" 3 shot groups @ 110 yds.

That's what I would load. I'd use it for everything from deer to moose and not look back.

Try the new Protected Points from Woodleigh, they´ll work fine in the 8x68S!

I am currently using 200 gr Triple Shocks and that is what will go with me to Africa next year.

However for deer and hogs I would drop down to the 180gr TSX.
