Just make sure that if you go the Ortho Surg route, you get the doc that does mostly shoulders.

You need a workup by an orthopedic surgeon.



Preferrably one who treats athletes at a college, university, or members of professional sports teams!

I went through a similar episode earlier this year. It's just my opinion but I would ask your family doctor for a referal to a sports medicine or rehab doc before I would ask for a referral to a surgeon. Remeber a surgeon makes his living by cutting. My feeling is I don't want anybody carving on me unless it is a last resort. I went through 6 weeks of physical therapy and it did wonders for me. I agree with Doc in that an MRI will tell you if there is something wrong that can only be surgically corrected. That not being the case I'm a firm believer in non-invasive therapy first. You can always cut later.
