Thompson Center encore pistol 7mm-08
Looking for a little advice or a point in the right direction. I just got a Thompson Center 7mm-08 encore pistol. Does anyone have one or can recommend a good starting load, powered or bullet combination.

Good thing for the edit button I meant to say this is an ENCORE PISTOL!!! My bad

Any help would be great.

I have killed two bucks with 140 grain combined technologies Ballistic Tips. As for load as always used the Winchester black box.

The velocity on the box is a sedate 2770 fps. I have not shot this load over a chrono.

Both shot clean through and blew the jugular out of those neck shot bucks.

Mine is a 24 inch Encore rifle.

I have a 7-08 Encore pistol and this works good
(also in short bbl. 20inch Rem 700) The encore has
a 2inch muzzle break which tames the recoil a lot
but you need extra ear protection with this rig.
Consider starting load a couple of grains below this and work up for accuracy. Don't worry too
much about velocity.

41.9 gr RL-15 powder
Fed 215 match primer
140 gr. Nosler Balistic tip Bullet
Federal or Rem. cases.
