trbBullets for 7RM
Favourite topic? Well, I guess a lot of use the 7mm... My question is, does anyone have experience with the Barnes 140 grain XLC bullet? I want to try this bullet but would like any input regarding accuracy and terminal performance. I am worried about not getting good accuracy, based on previous experiences with my 6,5 x 55, and I dont want to waste time and money unless I hear some positive reports. Tks.

fredj338The problem w/ any of the 'X' bullets is getting them to shoot! My 7mag doesn't like them, neither does my .338-06. I stay w/ Nosler part. because I can always get them to shoot well from any of the rifles I load for. The only way to know is buy some & give them a try.

<FarRight>It seems you either love them or hate them. I haven't worked up the dough or the courage to try them, but someday when I am rich I'll purchase a box of those exact bullets for my 7mm Rem just to see how they shoot.

m700I was really interested in using Barnes X bullets for my big game hunting, but couldn't get much in the way of accuracy no matter how much I tinkered with the loads. Others have been very happy with them, but I couldn't get 'em to shoot well in my .300 mag, or my 7mm Rem mag. Too bad, because they seem to offer awesome terminal performance. Guy
