Whatever happened to?
Can anyone tell me whatever happened to Champlin arms?
Are they defunct?
I remember years ago they produced some custom rifles and often these had octagonal bbl.
Elmer K was a big fan of there rifles i seem to remember.

I went to their booth at the Dallas Safari Convention. They seem to be a pretty low profile shop in an odd location (Enid, OK) but, they still make awesome rifles.

Are you sure that we are talking about the same person. If there is one thing about George Caswell--its not low profile. I've been good friends for 25 years and I say this loveingly that he's full of hot air. Has more knowledge about high quality guns than anyone else in business. If you don't think so just ask him.

All is well with the Caswells and Champlain Arms. They had a splendid booth in Dallas with may beautiful guns to drool over.

Their shop is at the Enid airport and folks from all over the world fly there, get off their plane and go into his shop.

Any mention of Champlin Arms is not complete without a nod to gunsmith JJ Perodeau. The guy is a wizard of wood and metal!
