Harry ORe: 9.3x62 Mannlicher-Schoenauer
Very nice looking gun. I have an M-1910 in 9.5x57 MS caliber. It is a takedown, halfstock with a 19.7" barrel. I am thinking seriously of having it restocked full length.
For those who are interested in the sight, Lyman made two sights for the MS. The Model 36 which swings forward and back when the bolt is cycled and a version of the 1A that mounted on the rear of the bolt. I have never seen a complete one for sale that mounted on the bolt. A special nut was required. I have seen a few Model 36's for sale, but the cost is prohibitive. They are collectors items in their own right.
A few years back, a handful of replica Model 36's were made by a machine shop in the Pacific Northwest. I tried unsuccessfully to get ahold of them by phone, FAX, and mail. A guy was selling the last few ones on eBay a few months ago. I bought one. It is really nice, mounted easily, and tightened up my groups. It was not cheap, but I think it was well worth it.
I have heard that they are planning to manufacture some more replica Model 36's. If they do, the Mannlicher Collectors Assn. newsletter will announce it. Be ready with a checkbook if they do. I imagine that they will go fast, too.

KurtCFritz,
Jim Wisner frequents the Gunsmithing Forum, or you could send him a PM.
Your Steyr swing-away mount is a collector's item here in the states. I've seen minty ones sell for over $300. Check your front mount carefully, as some were soft soldered in place.

MannlichermannenHello!
In my visit to Vienna last weekend I saw a used original swing mount for the Mannlicher-Schoenauer for 150 Euro. Since I got a EAW-pivot mount installed on my own MS last year I didn't find the need to buy it, though it seems quite neat.
By the way, they had three MS in the store which went for about 1.700-2.000 Euro each (scoped with high quality european scopes like Zeiss).
