molar1bell and carlson stocks
Since hearing about some of the issues with the fit of the HS precision stock for the ruger 77 mkii, I am considering buying a bell and carlson stock and having it pillar bedded. Anyone have experience with bell and carlson stocks?

Les StaleyI use a Bell&Carlson carbelite on my springfield 03A3 in 338-06.. first one split inside, but B&C gave me a new one no questions asked.. the next one I bought I ordered with a steel reinforceing block inside behind the recoil lug area.. no worries.. HTH. Les

PeglegThe Bell and Carlson stocks for me are way to flexable. Grab the butt stock and the forearm and twist. There is just too much movement there for me. I much prefer the High Tech Specialties stocks as they are lighter and way stiffer.

Woodrow SI will second the High Tech Specialties stocks. Mark builds super accurate serious hunting rifles that run $5000+ and if they are good enough for those rifle they are good enough for mine. Yes, I do have a few on my rifles and they are worth the cost. His shop is within 40 miles so I had him install them too.

kk alaskaThe early B&C with the slings built in were heavy and built different lots more glass.
The later ones need to be bedded or have
recoil lug reinforced. I have had very
good accuracy with the B&C and they offer them in LH rifles.

GerryI've one B&C stock and it is a very servicable stock, no complaints.
I've never seen a Ruger MKII pillar bedded due to the angled forward stock screw or am I missing something here? I'm certainly willing to learn.....
Cheers,

grizz007bought my first one and just received it a few days back for my old model 30. To say I am not impressed is abit kind. Chose to use the original wood and reshape and sand and fully glass bed the barreled action.
You get what you pay for. Some one mentioned "plastic" stock sometime back and I stand corrected.

Don SlaterMcMillan makes one helluva stock for the
Ruger Mark II! Classic stock and very nice
cheekpiece.

If light weight and cost are factors, you cannot
beat the hi-tech or rimrock.

SDhunterI hope I like them. I just purchased a 338-06 with one off of gunbroker. Expect it to show up on Wednesday this week.

I have a Hogue pillar bedded stock on my custom Ruger MKII in .35 Whelen. I've got to admit that I remember seeing the pillars but not how they are positioned regarding the angled screw.

molar1Gerry,
Brownells is selling pillar bedding sleeves that are angled to match the front action screw. Supposedly makes the job much easier.
