twist rate and .35 whelen?
I am having a .35 whelen made with a shilen barrel and 1 in 14" twist. How will this do in stabilzing the 225 gr bullets and bigger?

The 1 in 14 is ideal for the 225's but I prefer a 1 in 12 for 250 and up. The 1 in 14 will do the job for 250's but my own preference is for the 1 in 12.

1-14 should work just fine, it's the 1-16 twist that seems to cause problems with heavy bullets.

A 14" will be fine. I've tried 280 A-frame in a 14" and they stabilized at every range I've tried them (out to 300 yds).

My 16 twist stabilizes 250 gr. Hot Core's just fine. I bet a 14 will stabilize a 280 gr. bullet. JMO, Dutch.
