SDhunterRemington CDL SF limited, new series ?
This year Remington came out with the 700 CDL SF limited 30-06 Anniversary model.
Has anyone heard if this is going to be a new yearly limited offering.
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that this is going to replace the classic series, since it is no longer offered.

Allan DeGrootWhile I think this takes the place of this years "classic"
I think that they may actually bring back the classic next year....
If Remington were making it a new "series" then we'd probably have a long wait until the next one...
the 270Win wasn't developed until 1925, so another 19years....
the 257Roberts in 1934
The 220Swift in 1935
And they've already missed the 7x57, 6.5x55, 6.5x57, 8x57
and a host of others...
I would like to see that fluted sporter weight barrel as a regular production item for other calibers.
Originally the fluting left me cold, but after getting a 223 VSSF the idea of fluted barrels has been growing on me....

SDhunterI wasn't thinking that they would come out with "Anniversary" models.
But a CDL SF limited series would be great. There are a lot of cartridges that they could cover, just like the classics, but in a more modern CDL SF rifle.
I also think that they should make the SF CDL a standard offering, but it probably won't happen.

Allan DeGrootI'd like to see that too...

R FlowersNo, I do not think this is going to be a yearly thing like the 700 Classic series. I think this is a one time deal.
I have one on order, but it has not shown up as of yet. Looks like a great rifle in the catalog.
