CrazyhorseconsultingLet's bash the 338-06..
I think we should petition the goverment to simply outlaw anything other than the .223, .243, .270, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag.!
Everything else is a meaningless waste of time/effort/energy!

Following your logic, then why not just keep the 30-06? All the others you mention are superfluous - a little big for some things and a little small for other things, but the 06 can handle all game from squirrels to bear.

DWrightHa1 The .338-06 is probably the best caliber ever in this country.
Can't bash it at all. I own 2 of them and will have a 3rd shortly.

HomerOzG'Day Fella's,
Well, I have a .338-06, a 338WM, a .340 Weatherby and just recently, I purchased a .338 Lapua Mag.
They are all different types of Hunting rifles except for the Lap Mag and that is a Rem 700 MLR.
Whilst a .338-378 is just plain Too Much of a good thing for me, I'm wondering about a Kimber 84M Montana, in .338 Federal???
I like all of my .338's, for their individual rifle setups, ballistics etc but mainly for the hunting memories I have, with them!
Doh!
