D99370 Sako 9.3x66 in the new Sako 85
Anyone own one, how do you like it?
I tried to order a stainless laminate, but they are acting like they aren't imported. So I was thinking about buying a standard hunter and putting a McMillan stock on it.

MileHighShooterIIRC correctly Beretta had no intentions of importing the 9.3x66 and no commercial ammo is available here. However, Z-hat customs in WY is doing rifles, dies and brass for em.

capowardDon’t think any of the US manufacturers are producing rifles for this cartridge; Ruger would have been a natural were they not producing the .375 Ruger.
It appears that Federal has come through with the ammunition, .370 Sako Magnum for the US market, with two loadings. Here’s the hyperlink:
http://www.federalpremium.com/products/compare/rifle_compare.aspxLooks like a great cartridge for someone wanting to upgrade their smaller than .338-06 caliber rifle as it would be a simple re-barrel with no need to open the bolt face.

MileHighShooterOh wow! I didn't know they changed the name to 370 Sako Magnum....interesting. Must have figured the 9.3x66 moniker wouldn't have flown well in the state

Alberta CanuckI haven't seen one yet, but they sure sound like a decent chambering...
Same basic case diameter as an '06, but 3 m/m longer, with an "AI-type" shoulder...exactly what one would hope for if he could "raise" a 9.3 x 62 from a little "brassling", with a dose of steroids every week to make sure he grows big and really strong.
And still can fit without tricky feeding alterations into normal "clothes"...a standard action, that is.
What's not to like about that one?...sort of a .35 Whelen Ackley Improved with bigger diameter, African-DG-legal bullet.
I was just about to order a couple of 9.3 barrel blanks anyway. Maybe will need to order 3 instead of 2.....
