Re: .338 Win Mag 225 gr Barnes Triple Shock-X
yhc,
I got excellent results with IMR 4350 and RL 22 in my .338WM. The IMR 4350 was a bit more accurate. My best group was three shots into a single hole measuring .38" center to center at 2850fps. This is from a hunting rifle! I've never shot a group smaller than .75" in that rifle with any other bullet, regardless of the load. I feel that I could get more velocity out of the load as this was .5 gr. less than the max listed in the Nosler book. However with that kind of accuracy (average of four groups was .55") I felt I could stop right there. Hope this helps.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the bullets were seated .050" off the lands, as recommended by Barnes, using a Stoney Point bullet comparator not OAL.

How did you get that Stony point to work, when I used it, had the bullet sticking out of the case almost 90%
I thought this was an error so discarded it and went back to OAL in the Lyman Data Manual.
