MickinColoRemington Rifles
I had a man tell me the other day that all Remington rifles are made over seas now. Is this true or is he full of it?

R FlowersRemington rifles are, for the most part, made in the United States. However, they are now importing some rifles as well.
The Model 7, Model 700, and Model 710 are all made here in the US.
They do have some new models who's numbers I forget that are made in Europe. They are mauser copies and an entirely different action than the Remingtons made here.
So your friend is half right.

Iron BuckThe Zastava Mausers are being marketed & sold here in the US as the Remington 798/799. They are made in Yugoslavia, shipped here & I believe the stocks are added here in the states.

MickinColoThanks guys, I knew they were importing some rifles and shotguns, but I didn’t think they would move their whole operation over seas.

Thomas JonesAn interesting note on the 798s
I was looking at one the other day(not impressed by the way). Instead og Yougoslavia it was stamped made in Bosnia.
I belive it the same place but after the USSR fell apart (thank president Regan) the former yougoslavia has had some serious border shifting going on.
But I do belive it is the same factory as the MK10s...tj3006
