wannashootI need info i cannot find on the Remington site
The local W-M is about to stop carrying guns. They have a gun (I have not had it out of their display) that the tag says is a 700 Ri in 270 cal. I assumed Remington since it said 700 and it is blued steel with iron sights and a black synthetic stock. The stock has regular checkering on it not the outlined looking checkering seen on some. it is on close out for $299. What would a 700 Ri be? Thanks for any help.

vapodogI suspect that Ri is short for "rifle".....folks at a lot of WMs don't really have a clue as to waht they're selling.
At $299 it's likely a bargain for sure.
Ask to see it....it's stanmed Remington on the action somewhere.
if it has no floorplate it souds like a plain 700 adl to me.that would be a very good price

wannashootI went back to W-M and it was a 700 ADL per the paperwork on the box from the back room. It just said 700 on the gun but it had no floor plate as was indicated by ho. I did buy it.
Thanks for the information. I really had not paid much attention to Remington products lately.
at 299. thats a great price.i own one in 270win.after floating the barrel mine shoots 1inch or less consistently.
