sierrabravo45Blaser Rifles
I went to a recent sporting goods show and got to talk with a few of the Blaser Reps about the Model 93 straight pull rifle.
I got the whole talk from barrels to actions, plus even the finish and then I got to take one apart and put it back together.
To say the least I was greatly impressed with the concepts. (Quick take down, nice trigger, and cool concept) I know a high price tag goes with them, but I was thinking about getting one in a 6.5 x 55 or another medium caliber.
Do you Blaser owners like your guns??? Any troubles? I really would like to order a rifle, but wanted to get some feedback first.
Thanks,
Discussing the Blaser R93 often deteriorates into a mud slinging contest between the proponents and the contras. It seems to be one of those rifles, which either puts you squarely in the pro or contra camp. If you use the search funtion, you'll find plenty of information regarding the R93.
All I can say, is that I have used my R93(s) for hunting almost exclusively since I got my first specimen in 94. I now have quite a collection of stocks, barrels, mounts and scopes. This allows me to choose the right tool for the job at hand, and perform the switch in minutes - and yet stay with the familiar platform (trigger etc). Unparalleled versatility.
Add to that, total safety in the field, in spite of carrying a loaded round in the chamber, rifles 3-4" shorter than conventional rifles with comparable barrel lengths, great accuracy out of the box and ease of travel with take-down rifles, and you'll see whay I like my Blasers so much.

Andre MertensI have 3 R93 since 10 years (.222, .300 Win, 9,3x62)and have hunted them hard with no problem. Best out of the box accuracy I know of. This is my (perfect) travel outfit (.300 Win + 9,3x62) :

SempreElkI personally love the way they are designed . I feel they have way more pros then cons(few or none). They may be the best travel gun ever designed.
