Now you can buy it fron Huntington´s. They sells Norma´s.

Uh, no. It looks to be about $34 (USD$) per 20. Pretty reasonable, especially considering how obscure that cartridge is here in the U.S.

Look at the lower price of 7x61S&H. The explanation you provide does not make sense.
Loaded box of .300Winmag costs < empty pack of 8x68s brass at your company.
Lower those price they're outrageous.

I used my namibian friends 8x68 one time while visiting him for some hunting. I was amazed at the carnage on plains game. A lung shot on kudu, eland ect looked like a bucket of blood thrown on the bushes and ground. I will say, despite the impressive looking performance, the animals all ran about the same distance after being hit as they did with a plain old 45/70 I used.

Okay, I vote we do the following:

1. get CZ to offer the chambering, along with the 6,5x68S in standard rifles here. 26 inch barrels.
2. get Hornady to start loading the round(s) and sell brass.
3. get Grafs' to import the PRVI ammunition, bullets, and brass.

The pair would make a pretty good Plains Game Safari combination.

Ah! I checked Prvi for something else and 8x68S is something that they do not make.

I agree with Idaho-- Mauser makes barrels so does BLaser. Here is a 8x68S along with a 404 barrel, pretty good african set up dont you think.

When I am able to offer loaded 8x68S ammunition early next year; what bullets would you like to see up front?

The 200 grain Partition of course, and the Swift. Any votes for the 195 grain Hornady or the Accubond? Woodleigh does make a 220 grain Protected Point. That should stop an eland. Lemme know.

BTW, it will not be cheap, but it will not cost as much as the imported stuff.

Lawndart add a TSX - and "squeezit" (velocity wise) as much as possible - 8x68S shines at ranges over 200m. Up to 200m 8x57 covers it nicely and 68 sweats too much. I was shooting it for 5 years here with great X bullet predecessor ABC bullet loaded by HP.

With only close or mid ranges around and an odd Chamois here and there - it was just a matter of time - 9,3x62 took over.

I shoot 220gr sierra Game Kings in mine, half MOA all day long at 2880ft/sec. I have taken everything from Zebra,Kudu, Oryx and smaller. For Eland I have used Swift A frames in 220gr, through both shoulders!! the normal barrel twist is 1:11 for the 8x68S and not 1:10 like the 8mm Rmag and 325WSM. I have tried the 200gr TSX and Accubond in mine, at 3000ft they are no way near accurate enough for me, I guess the barrel twist rate is wrong for combination?? 180 TSX should work great as well?
whatever you choose select a premium bullet, I found the Accubonds still a bit too "soft" for larger African game, have had too many of them break up before hitting the vitals in 30cal??
this is a great caliber, you won't be sorry at all.

I agree that the 8mm is awesome but it currently lacks good bullet weight variety for me and it has the .338 shadow to overcome.

I love my 8x68S (built on a Husky mod 640 action and with lot´s of goodies!) and it has proven itself in the field several times.

RWS factory ammo with a 193gr H-mantel will do 960m/s and I´ve not been able to match those speeds using VV powders even though the loads have been compressed. I wonder what powder RWS uses?

The rifle packs a bit of a punch off the bench but is nice and smooth in a hunting situation. Perfect caliber for leopard and it might do well on lion.

I would love to see a 180, 200 and super heavy all in the TSX lineup. Failing that AFrames would be nice as well.

Mine is headed to Africa with me next year.
