9.3mm PRVI 285gr Spitzer bullets

youngda99.3mm PRVI 285gr Spitzer bullets
I've seen performance data and cross-sections of the outstanding PRVI 285gr RN .366 bullets...outstanding bullet. I cannot seem to find these for sale anymore?
Grafs has the PRVI spritzer bullet in the same caliber and weight. I'm actually wondering if they just have the wrong picture and are really selling the RN SP design.
Assuming the picture is correct: If PRVI has the same jacket thickness and locking bands as the old RN design had, this might be a Real winner (and at a great price also). Does anyone have any experience with the PRVI 285gr spritzer? I'd love to see a cross-section of one and hear how accurate it is and how it works on game.
Grafs Link Thanks.
(I caught the 9.3 bug...it may get as bad as the 358 Winchester bug)

youngda9Furthermore, the PRVI website only lists a SP design (pointed Soft Point) and not a SP-RN (Soft Point Round Nose) that I have typically seen in .366 caliber designs.
Seems to me they no longer produce the round nose soft point design and only produce the SP. Can anyone confirm this is the case?

SnellstromYes I just checked the website too.
I think a quick call to Graf's would clear it right up.
I have a nice supply of the SP RN other wise I would just order some and see if they are true Spire Point or Spire Point Round Nose.
Very happy with the accuracy of the bullets I have.

Biggs300I have 4 boxes that are PRVI's labeled 285 grain 9,3x62 SP's but they look nothing like the Spritzer bullet shown. They are more "round nose" than the Spritzer's you have pictured. These bullets are really accurate in my CZ550.
By the way, I too caught the 358 Win bug and it is one of my very favorite calibers. It does a number on deer and would not hesitate to use it on elk under 250 yards.

steyrstevePRVI probably discovered that the sales appeal of RN bullets in the U.S. market is just about zero, so they responded to what the U.S. shooter wanted and went with a SP.
I have several boxes of PRVI 9.3 285 gr factory loads which I bought six years ago. They, too, contain what I would call a semi-spitzer rather than a true RN. They shoot well in my CZ 550 Lux which dates from 1996.

SnellstromSame style that I've been shooting for years, bought in bulk from Graf's several years back (5+). Very accurate, have not tried my 9.3 on any game yet but need to.

.458 OnlyThe "SP" for that bullet doesn't stand for "Spitzer" but "Soft Point". We have the same deal here in Canada from a supplier. They are Soft Points, not "Spire Points" or "Spitzers".

youngda9That is correct, however it should be labeled a "SP RN" per the PRVI website.
