Overall Length: Kimber versus M70
Looking at the M70 Featherweight and the Kimber hunter and was a bit curious of the discrepancy in overall length. They both have same LOP (13 3/4).

The m70 has 2" shorter barrel, but is 1 1/2 longer? Where is that extra 3 1/2 inched buried?

M70: Barrel=22" Overall: 42 3/4"
K Hunter: Barrel=24", Overall: 41 1/4

Just pulling data off of the web sites. My suspicion is that Kimbers data is wrong. In that the 22" and the 24" barrel models have the same overall length.

If they don't know how long their guns are what else don't they know?? Buy the Winchester.

New Kimbers look like a Model 70, but what they are is a cylindrical, washer recoil lug like a Remington with a long claw extractor and mechanical ejector.

I have a Caprivi and like it, but I prefer Winchester.

I have both, just measured them.
The M70 is 42.5 inches overall and the Kimber 44 inches. Both have LOPs of 13.5".

Are you sure you are comparing the same action length? Kimber makes some really fine shorter action rifles, not just standard actions chambered in short action cartridges.
