<cougarhunting>gunsmith in british columbia
I have a 30-06 in remington 700 bdl (left hand)I would like to get it ackley improved. I have been told that it may even be possible to make it into a 300 mag. It does only have 22 inch barrel so it may not be worth it. Eventualy (when I can afford it) I will be buying a 338 ultra, and turning the 30-06 into a 25 caliber something (either 25-06 or a magnum version of same caliber)I have seen a few posts from residents in b.c and alberta. Any information about local gunsmiths that could do this work would be appreciated. Also what would be an estimate of what a fair price is.

stockerGive Dennis Sorensen (may be Sorenson) a call. I think he's in the Mill Bay area. I haven't had occasion to have him do work but have heard good comments about him.

waksupiGive Mark Scholpp in B.C. a call. He makes barrels, and is a shooter, and may be able to steer you right.

RickFTrevor, you won't do any better than Bill Leeper in Elko. He posts on this site. He's built 3 rifles for me, and I just ordered the barrel for the fourth that's being sent directly to him. Kind of sums up how I feel about his work.
