6.5x55 Performance

As Steffen says its a great system, not only how far off the bull in mm but also group size and a zoom function at the push of a button, neat!I still use paper targets elsewhere. The 3 shot group here was Lapua Mega 156grs 3 shots at 100m.

TR and Steffen, that is a very neat system. I haven't seen one like that before, maybe can have one myself one day.

I meant to ask what number 75 action is your rig built off of?? Number IV, or one of the others?

Mine I just received is actually a M-75 itself.

Thanks guys--Don

Hi Don,it's a 75 IV action. It has been glass bedded, dropped into a Mac stock and screw cut for the moderator.I resisted the fashion of shortening the barrel as I shoot the rifle without the silencer almost as much as with.I guess that I'm lucky but the POI difference with/without moderator is under an inch.To be honest, the rifle shot really well before, but it's nice to get them the way you want em!Have a good New Year regards Toby

Is the 6.5 X 55 really superior to the .260 rem? I do have a 6.5 barrel....

the 6.5x55 is superior to anything.
it does everything you can do with a rimfire all the way up to a amraam. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

but let's be serious for a change.
if you for any reason prefer a .260, get one.
the 6.5x55 has a slightly larger case, but the .260 works with slightly higher pressures.
in "ladeboken"(a reloading manual) velocities differs up to 50fs both ways.

Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..
