buttstockCZ550: who makes "lowest" rings? Warne. Talley ?
Have a CZ 550. Would like to use a set of rings that are lower than the factory supplied rings (height from bottom of ring to top of dovetail ~0.55"), leaving ~ 0.22" minimum of bolt clearance (and front objective clearance between barrel/front objective with 44mm obj. Nikon 3-9x).
Who makes a lower ring height? I saw Brownell's has Warne rings at 0.44" (~ 0.1" lower). Anyone make anthing lower?
I emailed Talley, but no response.
I wouold like to have my head lower on the stock for more natural eye alignment witth scope.
Wish CZ would offer a lower ring height.
Thanks

ArminiusDon´t get too low, as the bolt handle is difficult too handle.
Avoid the Millett´s I´ve heard they don´t stand up to recoil.
The factory rings may also be shortened by a good ´smith.

BlackHawk1I'm using medium Warne rings (Maxima and QD) and Leupold scopes on my hogsback CZ550s. Can't really get much lower without interfering with the bolt handle, unless you have the bolt handle reshaped.

ACRecurveWith the lowest Warnes and Talleys I reshape the bolt handles on my CZ550's and then reblue them. Nobody has noticed so far.....
