I prefer a 6.5x55 having taken both deer and moose with it. It'll also do nicely for black bear, caribou and elk. If you encounter grizzley I might sggest you learn to climb a tree. Several companies are now making the 6.5x55. Most are very accurate and they won't leave you feeling like a spastic cripple. You'll only find them in bolt actions though. Best wishes.
