Any flat shoting cartridges in 6,5, 270, 7mm will work just fine. 270 win or 7mm mag would be my own options. How abut a 270 WSM or 7mm WSM?

i have seen a cz m3 in 270wsm at hit & run in atlanta.. the action was very rough but the stock fit me well.. i'd go with a m70 for the difference in price..

I don't think you need a .300WSM for Ibex, but if you want it, that's good enough. My choice would probably be a M70 in .280 ro 7WSM or the CZ in 7WSM. I had a M70 made up for mountain hunting; thin, straight grain wood stock, Neidner butt plate, 23" ft.wt. bbl. in .280. Scoped & ready to go it weighs right @ 7 1/4#. 160gr bullets @ 2850fps or 150gr @ 2950fps is plenty flat & hits hard enough for sheep & goats. The Kimber in 7WSM would also be a great choice, just a bit more money.

I think that the m70 feather weight is going to be the ticket. The kimber has too short of a LOP, the m70 fits me better. Is it really a feather weight, it doesn't seem any lighter than the other models?

I am curious why everyone recommends the 270 and 7mm over the 300? (if I'm not mistaken, aren't the 7mm and 270 about the same diameter.) I like the bigger bullets the 300 can handle. It may help if I were to use it on bigger game, say to take a maral.

In the WSM's the M-70 Featherweight is "Featherweight" in stock style only. The original Featherweights had a lightweight barrel countour that is not used by USRAC in the WSM's, they have a standard barrel contour so aren't particularly light.
IMHO there is nothing in the world wrong with a 300 WSM, I have 2. But for long range shooting in a lightweight rifle the 7 WSM will kick less and actually has more energy past 300yds than the 300. The 300 will have an advantage for shorter ranges with heavier bullets..........DJ

I just noticed that the feather weight m70 is only a 13.5" LOP instead of the normal 13.75" LOP. The strange thing thoug is that the sporter LT and Supergrade have the correct LOP for me and they weigh 4 ounces less than the feather weight. Rather strange, but works for me. (I'll probably get the supergrade.)
