sold my 338 lapua
I had a lapua for a short while. It was a savage long range hunter. About 9lbs baffle style brake. Mounted a red field 4-12x40 to it didn't plan on taking 500+ shots. Just wanted a big gun . I say if you can afford to pay 7$ bullet. Then its a hoot to shoot. Practically no recoil about like a 30-06. Sold mine because I was in a ATV wreck while trail riding . I notice people who don't own know more about how nasty they kick lol.
I was shooting custom hsm 300gr Berger otm 2700+fps .loaded to 3.760"

I've have bad luck with those factory hornday loads. I've found out hornday was making it to thin in the web area and lead to sticking in the chamber so I ended up buying hsm loads and for a few bucks more they'll load them in lapua brass. I paid 110$ per box but worth it if you have extracting issues its the brass not the rifle just a heads up

Just reload. Then it's no different than any other cartridge. I love mine. Factory ammo is ridiculous however.

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.

Yeah just use lapua brass though.
