willmckee308 norma from 7mag
Looking for 308 norma magnum brass. It's around. I've got a batch of 7mm Remington magnum. Can I form the Norma from that?

HipshootI don't see why not. I did the flip on a few pieces (made 7RM outa .308 Norma) worked out OK! Try a couple of cases, you don't have too much to lose.

WstrnhuntrNot sure if thats a good idea, the Norma case is a tad bit longer than the 338/7mm case. You might end up with head space issues and/or a short neck. As they are supposed to headspace on the belt, it might work out ok though. Probably better to form them from 300 WM brass.

willmckeeworks great. used brass, annealed the necks, ran over a .30 cal Lee expander, then sized in a redding neck sizer. have fired 30odd pcs of brass twice now and first load i tried with a 180 gr speer boattail shoots 3 under an inch at 100 yrds every time.

400 WhelenThey will be a little short, but they will be usable. I reform 300 Win Mag cases by running them through the 308 Norma Mag FL resizing die and trimming to length.

HipshootBuy an 8mm expander button then size down in .308NM FL die until it chambers.

geoffI used 7mmRM brass when 308 Norma was almost impossible to find. I simply lubed the inside of the neck with moly lube and ran it through the full lengtj 308 Norma die. There were no problems with chambering or accuracy. I shot many rounds for scope zero, practice, and a Namibian plains game hunt. The necks are a little short but did not seem to affect headspace as I relied on the belt. Throat erosion was not a consideration as barrels are cheap if replacement is required in the future.

DIsA while back I was trying a Husky rechambered in 308 Norma mag. and did not have any brass. I just ran 7mm mag brass through the norma dies and loaded up some ammo. They shot very accurately and worked fine. No problems what so ever. So, I would probably do it again.
