I shoot the same bullets (Power Points) out of my .30-06, maybe 100 fps faster, and they work great on deer. I've killed four or five deer with them, never had one fail to exit, and never had a deer go more than 50 or so yards. The exit holes are typically about 1 1/2 inch in diameter, which might be a little less expansion than you'd get with a BT. I say stick with the Power Points.
