Why is the Sako Bavarian in 9.3x62 so hard to find?

I can’t afford one right now, but some day I think I might want own a Sako Bavarian in 9.3x62. Problem is, they seem rare as hens teeth. Why are they so scarce. I really like the way the Bavarians point for me with open sights. I’ve never really been a Sako fan, but I like the Bavarian model.

That is lovely! I saw one of those Bavarian stutzen models in 9.3x62 for sale on gunbroker a while back. Have yet to see the standard Bavarian in 9.3x62 for sale anywhere though. That rifle is the only push feed 9.3x62 I would ever care to own. There is a like new Bavarian in 308 at the local Scheels for $1600. Wish I had the dough. It points for me with open sights like a Benneli Super Black Eagle 3, which is to say perfect!
BTW, we seem to share the same taste in scopes. Simple and hard to break!

ColoradoMattI’m going to put that same scope on a Ruger African 9.3x62 with Alaska arms QD mounts. My favorite hunting scope, period.

AtkinsonYou two got good taste in scopes..I like the 1x4x20, 3X fixed, and 4X fixed, the 1x4 is nice but its a bit unneeded, at the 1,2 and 3 power, but doesn't hurt a thing..If a variable is up for grabs in this scenario, Id go for the 2x7x28, the 28MM are hard to come by but I buy about every one I see in the gun shows and pawn shops, all Leupolds...

GeedubyaIIRC the SBC chambered for the 9.3 x 62 was not imported to the US.
EuroOptics currently has the Sako 85 Bavarian half-stock in 9.3 x 62 listed for sale on their website.
https://www.eurooptic.com/Sako...avarian-93-x-62.aspxI have the SBC in 308 Winchester and 30-06 Springfield (which I got from Biebs)

JeffreyPhDAlthough the Germanic style does not usually appeal to me that much, I do like the Sako Bavarian rifles. Any ejection problems with these in 9.3x62? I've read some reports of issues with other calibers, esp the short, fat cases. I agree with those above that like the simplicity of the fixed power scopes in 3x, 4x and 6x. Wish Leupold still offered the 3x aside from a custom shop order.

AtkinsonYes sir, its agrivating they don't offer the 3X in other than their custom shop..I buy good used ones now and then..Its the best DG scope out there, and suits me under any and all conditions as Elmer used to say...
