onefunzr2Clearance day at MidwayUSA
It doesn't happen too often to me, but for once I lucked into a sweetheart of a deal. Tuesday is clearance day at Midway. They had this Bell & Carlson Carbelite Trebark Superflage stock offered at the regular price of $187...dealer price of $173. When it went on clearance I bought it for $75.28 plus the usual shipping cost. I couldn't give two hoots about this camo pattern. But when the plain jane black model is offered for $145 dealer cost, I just couldn't pass it up. The B&C recoil pad was way hard, so I installed a Pachmayr Decelerator 752B...much softer. I like the way it turned out.
Gun is a '89 Remington 7600 in 35 Whelen; barrel is Magnaported. I bought it used and the OEM walnut stock had the usual bowling pin shiny finish that was a little boogered up from hunting use. Scope is an old Redfield Widefield 3x9 on Luepold mount. 8 pounds 3 ounces the way it's pictured, unloaded.
The moral of this tale is, if you have time to log onto
MidwayUSA on a Tuesday, you might get a sweet deal too.
