Mark R Dobrenski2 canoes--if memory servesme right I gotta believe it would be awefully close to my 340.
I have an old guns and ammo around with a good article on it-I'll have to see if I can find it.

I believe the KT will push a 250 grainer somewhere between 2900-3000 fps with modern powders. It was designed to maximize the performance of H-4831 in the .338 bore (H-4831 was the best powder for the bore back then).
Case forming is a whole pile of work and other than a bit of history it offers no gain over the hotter .338s on the market.
The case is a bit of a dinosaur.
Hope that helps.

dan belisleA little quicker then the 340 Wby, a little slower then the regular 338-378 Wby (which it is a shortened version of). Considering the case hassle, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a big Keith fan. FWIW - Dan

two canoesthanks all -i built one on a new wby. mark 5 action back in 1985-i'm a elmer fan and just had to have one-course they weren't available back then. used a 26" broched rifling bbl. magna-ported and braked--load 103 gr. h4831sc behind a 250 nosler-don't have to look down the barrel after firing to tell if it went off.--moderate recoil-i can stand about 35-40 rounds from the bench, then must stop for a couple of days-let my back become rejoined. thanks again.

AtkinsonI think the calibers over the 338 Win. are just too much of a good thing..I am so satisfied with the 338 Win. that I see no reason to change.

Satisfaction with the 338 Win. is no reason to stop changing!
You should change at least once every three days or you will start to smell!
A good meal is satisfying.
The same cartridge year after year is boring!
