Does anyone other than Ruger ever make a tang safety?

We Are Sparta!Does anyone other than Ruger ever make a tang safety?
Did Winchester or Remington or anyone out there make a rifle with a tang safety? Seems like the a great idea. We are always extolling the benefits of the "3 position" safety and I never really liked it.

StonecreekA tang-mounted safety is one of the handiest and quickest locations and is equally accessible to either right or left-handed shooters. Too bad that more rifle manufacturers haven't seen fit to adopt this excellent design.
You can add the old Mossberg 810 series to the list (also sold as Western Auto's Revelation and M. Ward rifles).

snowmanVoere also put tang safeties on Mauser 98 actions that they built into sporters.

HuviusDaniel Fraser did the same.
I think on the Mausers they are intended to be used as a stalking safety since they only bolt the trigger and not the firing pin as the bolt safety does.

Savage_99Ruger #1's have a tang safety.
Get the 'power' or optic that your eye likes instead of what someone else says.
When we go to the doctor they ask us what lens we like!
Do that with your optics.

Fraser Mauser bolt guns were built both ways (with tang safety or with conventional Mauser safety)...I don't know whether that was at two different price levels, or at each customer's option, but when I used to collect Frasers I found and bought them in both configurations.

PatagonHunterThe last (post 1961) Mannlicher-Schoenauer had a tang safety also. Works great. Plus, they retains the original flag safety.
