I'm just now starting to work on reloading for my 35 whelen can anyone give me some tips or loads that would help.

Assuming you have a couple of manuals to double-check with, I would recommend you start with R-15 recipes. This powder works quite well in the Whelen.

I'll second that. R-15 , 225 gr. XXX shocks and win. primers are accurate in my rifle. I have the Remington CDL 35 whelen, that was the first load I tried. I'm working on some 250gr. hornady's now.

I believe I used varget with my 200 gr loads. It was a bang flop load. I don't remember what I used with my 280 gr WLN hard cast from Mt Baldy. I have not blooded that load yet. It kicks a bit more but should be a bad day for piggies to meet me with that load. Good luck and God Bless. Packy

Loads are safe in my rifle. Several are 65Kpsi loads so start low.
