I have a friend who wants to neck a 357 mag down to 22 caliber; he wants something bigger than a 22 mag and smaller than 223. I told him to look into a 22 Horent or K Hornet, however, he is hell-bent on being different. So, does such a cartridge already exist? If so, what powder would he use?

It's been done and it's called the 22 Remington Jet. It's been dead for years. Just goes to show you that there is nothing new under the sun.
