Can't see anything there that justifies the price.
The afore mentioned Ruger Gun site model Seems just as good and you could by two and adnd a half of them !

bbellI agree with tjrobers. I have heard that the government paid substantially more than the suggested retail on the canadian ranger. A fine example of government spending.

Cold Trigger FingerMaybe they think the Styer Scout was the price range. I dont think the Styer is nearly as good a rifle as the Ruger.

Ray BThe suggested retail is $2700, but the article is in a Canadian publication so I'm guessing that it is Canadian dollars. the present exchange rate is 1 CDN = .76 USD. that makes the ;price about $2050; which would mean that the competitive retail price would be in the vicinity of $1500 USD; which wouldn't be too high if the rifle offered some value.
