Quite like a Ruger Scout, no?

But unlike the GunSight Scout rifle . It does not have a Mauser style crf action. .

Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

Seems awfully expensive to me.
Can't see anything there that justifies the price.
The afore mentioned Ruger Gun site model Seems just as good and you could by two and adnd a half of them !

I agree with tjrobers. I have heard that the government paid substantially more than the suggested retail on the canadian ranger. A fine example of government spending.

Maybe they think the Styer Scout was the price range. I dont think the Styer is nearly as good a rifle as the Ruger.

The suggested retail is $2700, but the article is in a Canadian publication so I'm guessing that it is Canadian dollars. the present exchange rate is 1 CDN = .76 USD. that makes the ;price about $2050; which would mean that the competitive retail price would be in the vicinity of $1500 USD; which wouldn't be too high if the rifle offered some value.
