wildcat junkieI load my own, but if/when I get "store boughten" ammo, I like the premium line from Federal.

wwjmbdI load my own, most with hornady interlocks, but if I do buy any factory loads they are usually remington core lokts.

p dog shooterI have brought lots of blasting ammo 223 for ARs 9mm that stuff is brought by who has the best price. When one is training for short range tactical training it dosen't really matter.
Other then that I don't think I have shot a head of big game in 40 years with a factory round all hand loads.
I guess my freinds who shoot factory I see more remington the others.

I can count 3 .... but then I bought what was currently available for the task at hand.
Just prefer my own home rolled ammo.
Cheers,

Dr. LouStrictly roll my own rifle ammo unless someone gives me some factory stuff to shoot. All my duty ammo for my pistol and M16s are factory, otherwise I load it.

SevensI usually buy the core-lokts as they work just fine on deer. (Although California law dictates I use "lead-free" ammo now, so that kind of ended the core-lokts for me).
For an exotic hunt, like Marco Polo Sheep or Cape Buffalo for example, I'll shoot whatever reputable brand (Federal, Winchester, Remington, Hornady, etc.) happens to be loading the bullet I'm looking for. My choice between brands is often going to be cost based. If a box of Federal Ammo loaded with A-frames is $5 cheaper than a box of Remington ammo loaded with A-frames, I'll use the cheaper brand unless it had accuracy like a scatter gun in my rifle. I would not however use Prvi ammo loaded with A-frames (if it existed) vs. Federal ammo with A-frames as Prvi doesn't have that reputation of reliability that Federal has. Granted no ammo is infallible.

257 RockI shot my first deer with a factory M1 carbine load in 1968. Every deer or anything thing else has been with handloads. Not including 22 rimfire for small game.

wasbeemanWith the price of ammo, unless a guy is a dedicated "box a year" shooter, he can hardly afford to buy ready rolled. For just the price of a couple of boxes of premium ammo, you can buy a basic reloading rig.

7600I voted remington. I don't use much factory ammo, but when I do it's remington. Especially the round nose ones.

Dr. LouHave to eat my words. Not even 24 hours since I posted that I don't buy factory ammo and pick up a box of Norma 9.3x62 286 Silverblixt for $25.
I couldn't find anything at the show that I couldn't live without, so when I saw this lonesome box of Norma ammo that needed a home, I snagged it. I have to admit that I do pick up a an occasional box of ammo at gun shows if it's not easily found and it's a good buy, e.g., $20 for a box of factory Winchester 358 Win ammo.
I feel better now that I have confessed.

2ndtimerI reload my own, but occasionally pick up a box of Federal .243 Win, and do have quite a good stock of Fiocchi .223 40 gr V-Max, since it can be had for $16.99 for a box of 50.
Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

LBGuyload most of it, but for store-bought, i usually buy federal.

Red C.I load my own, but my New England .30-06 really likes Remington Core Lokt ammo, so I purchase it once in awhile.
Red C.
Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

RMillerI load my own.
If I had to buy some for hunting I would first look at Federal premium ammo, I always liked thier offerings.
My list of factory ammo used for hunting is small. 223 FMJ flat nose for deer once, dont remember what brand makes that one. 210 nosler in the Federal Premium 338 for a moose. 180 core-lokt 308 win for my black bear. 270 grain round nose Remington 375 H-H for my elk. 210 grain 41 mag winchester for a deer. 147 Grain Black Talon Winchester 9mm for another deer.Pretty sure thats it for factory ammo game I have shot.
