tjrobertsLow cost Rifle in 6.5 Creedmore
I am thinking of getting into the 6.5 creedmore
Might hunt with it next season, I have a Ruger American in .243 that shoots very well.
What are you guys experience with the Ugly inexpensive rifles out there, the Howa The Mosbergs Savage. I probably want a 22 inch sporter weight.

Paul HWhy not get another Ruger American? They are reasonably priced and you are happy with the one you already have.
My experience over the years is I've never once been happy with a firearm I purchased because it was inexpensive.

tjrobertsGood chance I will go with that Ruger,
I would likely use 125 or 130 grain hunting bullets, Pretty flat.
I have lots of time, the Hornady 6.5 on the RCM case would probably be dandy too. but think it might be dead already.

wookie76I've seen reports of people happy with the TC Compass. Basically it's a question of aesthetics...whatever floats your boat. If you can hold out `til black Friday sales, you could probably get something built as an exclusive for the various big-box stores. IIRC, folks were snatching up the TC Compass ~$250.

pacecarsI picked up Compass a T/C 6.5 Creedmoor and it is scary accurate. I handled it and a Ruger American and liked the feel of the Compass over the American so went with it.

memtbThe granddaughter came to the house with her new Ruger American yesterday and some Hornady 143 ELD-X ammo. She’s not very experienced, but her first 2, 2 shot groups (we were zeroing)were pretty good. Had all four shots been taken without the scope adjustment, it may have been one “ragged” hole. I was pretty impressed! memtb

BiebsI bought one of the Bergara synthetic rifles. I haven't shot it for groups yet, but it seems to hit what I aim at.

JimTxThere are several good actions out there that should be really good. THE PROBLEM with many of these rifles is the CR---y cheap plastic stocks that comes with the gun. I have seen better stocks on my old Red Rider BB GUN and my pellet gun.

Research the action and brand then you may need to look at a custom stock depending on what you want and get.

I picked up a TC
compass Venture in 280 Rem after reading lots of positive reviews. Still havent got it out yet. Its almost time though. The only thing I dont like so far is the funky 3 rd magazine. Otherwise it looks pretty good to me for a budget tupperware stocked rifle, seems to have a good action and trigger.

TNDave59I bought a Howa 1500 Gameking with 22” barrel that shoots 1/2” groups out of the box. Also took to South Africa this past spring, shot a warthog at 143 yards and blesbok right at 100 yards and both dropped at the shot.
