LoneEagleFor the 9.3x62 Fans Here
I just got my new issue of Handloader. In it is another article on Handloads for the 9.3x62. The author included data for 250 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and 232(?) Norma Oryx bullets. Just thought that those who don't subscribe may want to look for this issue. BTW, the rifle he used was a CZ 550 American. Sean

aHunterI would for sure not mind the little money, but where do I get this in Middle Europe?
Is anybody willing to scan in this article, please?
Thanks, Hermann

<Harry>Rats! I went to Barnes and Noble tonight to pick up the issue and they did not have Handloader. They had Rifle but no Handloader. Oh well...I will find it somewhere.

Curtis_Lemaysince i don't regularly get any magazines except the
American Rifleman and
American Hunter (goes with the NRA memberships my father and i have) I haven't seen much publicity on the part of the 9.3x62. however, I don't see any harm being done if it turns out that a decent following takes up around this cartridge

BER007carcano91,
"Famous" means popular but not good
But I agree with you about the quality of articles.
I prefer "Petersen's rifle shooter"

Ku-dudeI am sitting here looking at my issue of the Handloader in question. The article on the 9.3 is by Steve Gash. I know that sometimes get mislaid in editing (like my scene in the only movie I was ever in), but it would have been really neat if Steve had given us a clue what the barrel length was on his rifle! Velocity data without barrel length is hard to correlate.
You will be able to see the article on their web site. His findings coincide with mine. I have used Norma and Lapau cases in 9.3x62 and not necked up 35 Whelen cases. I use FC and WLR primers.
My favorite powder is 4895; I find that RL15 is more tempermental. Generally, the article is good. It gives a couple of good loads. Ku-dude

LoneEagleKu-dude, I know what you mean. It should have been included but since it was a standard factory rifle, I would have to assume (yeah I know what happens when you do that) that the barrel length would be the factory listed 23.6". Sean

Ku-dudeI know that this isn't about medium bores, but did you all happen to read the article about African cartridges and note the energy quotes for the Weatherby 460. I don't think so. The energy quote is over 1000ftlbs off according to my computer program, and it was spot on with all the other loads. Ku-dude

AtkinsonI read that article, and the author sure played it safe, no lawsuits with that guy...He must load a lot of his stuff with baby powder to get those quoted velocities......
