Ken ClineCooper rifles to have a magnum line
Cooper will be introducing the model 56 sometime early next year in the standard win. mag. chamberings including .264, 7mm, 300, and 338. Kinda ho-hum I suppose, with all the new magnums out there, but should be interesting in a one hole shooting rifle.
I recently bought a model 54 and the owners manual was for a 52, 54, and 56. So, I called today to find out what was up.

tc98I bought a 54 back in July. Mine is a 308, and I haven't shot it yet, but will have it on the bench next week. I'm really becoming a fan of the Coopers. I've got a 308, 280 AI, and 6.5 X 284. Need some quality bench, and reloading room time!
What caliber did you buy, and how do you like it so far?

jetdrvrI've killed a dozen species of African antelope and dozens of whitetails with my ho-hum 7mm Remmys. Never saw a reason to reinvent the wheel...unless, of course, some sucker out there wants to buy something just because it's new. Same thing that sells iPhones, I guess...

Ken ClineAgreed, nothing wrong with the win. mag. cartridges, but with a totally new line of rifles, one would think they would add a few "newer" cartridges to draw more interest.
But, maybe with rifles of this quality, there is no need to hype them. They speak for themselves.
My 54 is a .243. Shoots great!

Dr. LouDon't get me wrong because I am not big into the push feed CRF fight, but to my mind the Cooper needs to be CRF just for aesthetic purposes. However, the 264 WM interests me.
