416TanzanSingle-stack magazine of Winchester XPR
I've got a couple of questions on the new Winchester XPR that AR members might be able to help out on.
What is the inside length of the single-stack magazine?
Is there a way to lengthen it safely and easily to 3.49" or 3.50"?
For example, could someone cut out a strip about 0.2" wide in the front edge, in front of the noses of the cartridges, and then epoxy or cement a reinforcement on the outside of the magazine to help stabilize the box integrity? The front of the base and first half-inch of the front edge of the magazine would remain intact, too.
The rifle looks like a very inexpensive "hunter," but I would like 3.49" of magazine length for a 338 WM with long bullets.
I have no idea but I looked at a pic of the magazine.
How much more do you need?
How thick is the front wall of the mag?

416TanzanThanks for the picture.
It is difficult to judge the overall length.
However, it does look like about .08" to .09" could be scooped out in the front edge and maybe a thin laminate placed on the outside, assuming that enough space was available between the magazine and the stock's magazine well.
