I love my 6.5 cm in my Blaser k95 and blaser r8 (regular and match barrels).

Getting advice on guns on ar these days is the same as like asking advice on cars or trucks.

Michael, that's because others, who are even older and more confused, cannot admit that the Blaser is a fine rifle, and the 6.5 Creedmoor is indeed a fine caliber. Biebs is the main target as he is the most vocal advocate of the Balser, and he was the OP.
I have a Blaser R93 with 3 barrels, and, I also posted my experiences with the 6.5 CM! The Blaser just has outstanding accuracy in the 3 magnum calibers that I own. My T/C Compass, despite mediocre accuracy first time out, showed excellent (sub MOA) accuracy with Nosler Factory match ammo, and this was a $299 rifle!
I have owned a 6.5 x 55 Rem 700 and was not satisfied with the accuracy, despite much ammo "tuning".
These are the same folks who think that the 1911 is the best handgun design ever!

I saw no humor at all in the preceeding BS, and have zero interest in a Blaser or what caliber or make of guns other hunters shoot. Their choice of guns and ammo is up to them. My choice is up to me.
No criticism meant of Biebs, it just does not interest me.

Well all thngs being equal, I wouldn't own a Blazer on a bet, but I love my Mannlicher/ Shoenauers. Viva la Difference. That's why they make Fords + Chevys too. So we have different opinions on various rifles. So what! We are all shooters. Other than the humor posted about preferences, we are all really on the same page.

The dislike for plastic and stainless along with a lot of new crap that turns little boys on is a curmudgeon thang, and at near 87 I be one a dem!!!

Rust blue, fine European walnut, leather covered recoil pads, iron sights with a scope for back up, red dots, high combs, all thats unholy today has been my extended use and chosen hunting tools in the 4 coroners of the earth...I hold on to the past with pride and gratitude..

Oh did I tell you I have a boat paddle stocked stainless steel .338 Win mod 77 Ruger, but its for a loaner I won't be caught with it, even if I have to toss it over a cliff if I run into an AR compadre, I know I can always retrieve it next year and it will still be working...

Let's not confuse the move from rust bluing and walnut to stainless metal and synthetic stocks with the abomination known as Blaser.

First, with the switch barrel concept, it's an answer to a problem that doesn't exist. Simply put, it's unnecessary.

Realizing they raised an ugly product, Blaser tried for years to soften the effect with deep relief engraving and high grade wood ... only to rightly be identified as putting lipstick on pigs.

The follow on was to start offering synthetic stocks with, now get this, LEATHER inserts where you would normally find checkering. That's right folks, a "weather proof" rifle with leather stocks!! WFT!!!

Strange as that may seem, Blaser entered the realm of bizarre with this offering:



That's right folks. A very oddly shaped "thumbhole" stock, covered in leather, with carbon fibre grip surfaces.

So please fan boi's, tell us of the superiority of the Blaser contraption. We aren't buying it. And yes, the sound you are hearing is us laughing AT you, not WITH you!

When this guy shows up in your hunting camp, you'll know you've got a Blaser shooter in the group!

Great minds think alike.

I think Todd is right.

The turnbolt is better than straight-pull actions because the fraction of a second more needed to work it increases reliability greatly. After a guy had the bolt from a straight-pull driven into his face here, I wouldn't touch one, except maybe the Browning .22.

There may be some European country where multiple barrels make legal sense, but they don't here and I can't see any sense in taking them to Africa, even to save baggage weight. Why? Because if the sudden appearance of unexpected game requires a different rifle, you need it then - not after you change the barrel.

On the matter of luggage weight, it is possible to take a 10.3lb db rifle, a 9lb medium rifle, ammo and adequate clothing etc without paying extra. It just takes care and imagination.
