BaxterBWhat’s a 280 Ross worth?
Happened to run across a very nice Ross Rifle Co. M1910. What’s the going rate for these? Won’t tell you what he’s asking quite yet. Thanks.

BaxterBVery good, thanks. Looks like he's right on with his price of $1100.
Had never seen one in person - has great lines.
Here's some pics:

cdsxI suspect the stock may have been refinished, but the metal that we can see looks to be in fine shape. I know you haven't seen the bore, since the bolt is firmly zip-tied down, but that's obviously the biggest factor to consider now. Are you considering buying?

BaxterBI do not think I will buy it, mostly because I have other things I’d like to do gun-wise at the moment.
Given the gun show was mostly ARs/shotguns/everyday bolts, it was nice to see a British-looking rifle. As I say, I’d never seen one but do know a little of the history.
sir Charles Ross at one time had the lease on the Ngorongoro crater.

cdsxHe was definitely an incredible character. He was a true inventive genius, not just with firearms, but farm machinery, high-speed boat propellers, you name it. Unfortunately, once he brought an idea to fruition, he lacked the temperament to follow through and develop it fully. It's like he lost interest once it was no longer challenging to him. Pity. Eccentric, to put it very mildly!
