My FN-Winchester Super Grade was and is floated.

The FN-Winchester Safari 416 was barely floated. Something I fixed when I bedded it.

The older classics, I think, were supposed to be floated, but usually touched somewhere in the barrel channel. They didn't have pressure pads at the end of the channel.

The old Classics were not floated.
When buying a New Haven rifle, the first two things you need to do is float the barrel, and adjust the trigger.
