KabluewyI don't think so, but I ain't betting nothing yet. I hope it's not the 9.3X66, because that would make it really interesting.

CARNESo if Federal is producing ammo for sale in the US. Who is producing guns?

tiggertateMaybe some marketing types have plans to sell the 9.3 x 66 in the USA as the 370 Magnum, or make an entirely new caliber on the x 66 case. Looking at SAKO's site, they make nothing between the aforementioned 9.3 and the 375 H&H.

skogz hat in WY has been making guns and supplying brass for a while. I image that sako/tikka aka beretta wanted to see if it would take off in europe before bringing it to the states and was trying to figure it out wether to call it 9.3 x 66 or 370 sako. I see the inch version won out. Also with the hype of the 375 ruger, sako probally wants a piece of the pie.

Conskog,
If Sako really wanted a piece of the 375Ruger pie ... they'd chamber a Tikka T3 to 9.3x66 and sell it at a lower cost than a Ruger Alaskan/African model. Going on Australian rates ... $950 buys you a T3 and $1500 a Ruger 375Ruger. Charge a $100 premium for the 9.3x66 and you've still substantially cut the 375Ruger out at the knees. Besides ... if Ruger can market a 338WinMag Hawkeye at $950 ... why the 375cal premium?
Cheers...

Must be those expensive open sights!

Actually I think they are pretty good open sights for a factory rifle in that price bracket!
It would be interesting to compare the "Sako 370" to the 375Ruger - if its the 9,3x66.
They may be quite close?

CanadianLeftyFEDERAL CARTRIDGE CO. is now going to produce the 9.3x66mm in America and Canada as NEW FROM FEDERAL:
370 SAKO MAGNUMIt just might catch on very well with commercial factory loadings.
370 SAKO MAGNUMWhat do you think of it?

Ted68At Weatherby prices? I don't know. I knew they were going to introduce this, but I thought that it would be priced in line with the 375 Ruger and 375 RUM, or somewhere in between. And I planned on building my next rifle for it.
Midway sells Nosler Custom 375 RUM ammo with Accubonds for $20.00/box less, and Hornady Custom 375 Ruger with Interlocks for $50.00/box less. That tells me that empty brass will be inline with Weatherby 375, too.
So, more power, less money, equal quality? It now looks like I'll be taking a 375 RUM to Australia with me, not a 9.3x66/370 Sako.
