richjMauser 9x57
If it looks familiar it should.. It was on the Auction sites for a while:
M98 Mauser in 9x57mm. It was made before 1912. The Octagon barrel in 1935.
Double set triggers. The stock is new-ish :-).
Marked:
2,99 GBP - Gewehr Blaettchen Pulver (military flake powder)
St m G - Stahl-mantel Geschoss (steel jacketed bullet)
with a crown-over-N for "Nitro", specifying smokeless powder.

KurtCThe 2,99 GBP equals about 46 grains, of which IMR 3031 is a common substitute. The original bullet was probably around 245 to 250 grains.
Beautiful stockwork. You don't often see forearm checkering with a barrel wedge.

packrattusnongratusI would rate that as spectacular. Another fine teutonic piece. Is that a Redfield 2.5X scope? Just curious. Thanks for the picture. Packy
