Bill Soverns.35 Whelen done.
Just put this back together for the final time. Traded a customer out of this pre-war Model 70 that had been rechambered to .35 Whelen. All I did was re-stock and rust blue it. Wood is bastogne. Now all I need is an elk.

Just joking.

Sendero300Great looking classic pre 64. Do you know the original chambering? Was the rifle rechambered and rebored?

Sendero300Are you going to scope the rifle or just hunt with the irons?
I have a pre 64 '06 barrel spotted, that's been shot out. Who would rebore and rechamber to a .35 Whelen? Do you have any idea of the cost?
I like those pre war guns.

458RugerNo1Very classy looking rifle Bill... Should be a joy to hunt and shoot with.
I find the .35 Whelen an intriguing round. I've never had one but would like to try it out some day. I've heard much praise of that cartridge.

Bill SovernsSendero,
Jim Dubell/Delta GunShop can provide the service you are looking for. I dont know the cost. He posts on AR from time to time. I will be putting a Leupold 2.5x8 on the rifle this summer.
