Speer .30 cal 165 gr. RN in 30-06
Recently picked up a box of the discontinued speer 165 gr. rn. Will be using them in a 3006 for whitetails under 200 yrds. Will probably load them around 2700 fps. Anyone have any experience with these?

They worked great in my 308 Win on Deer, and I even took some with me to shoot Impala too.

Never recovered any as they all exited. I used IMR 4895,
and shot 1 inch or less most of the time.

I'll probably load them down a little as I had shoulder surgery earlier this year. Can't wait to try them on Michigan whitetails

They will work just fine.

As long as you place them in the proper spot.

I just used the last of my IMR 4350 with my last Hornady #3075 180 grain round nose bullets. Got 75 rounds----should last me a while.

I guess great minds think alike Smiler

Over the last number of years Ive read in hunting magazines by "experts" that spitzers are better than RN bullets, a flat statement, and I wondered if they ever tried a Woodley or Rem corelokt RN..Two cup and cores back in the day that never failed me or anyone I knew..Even today they rate high in my books, and have yet to fail, more than I can say for some modern "premium" bullets! oh my stir sofa diggin
