Marlin.444Speer .30 cal 165 gr. RN in 30-06
Recently picked up a box of the discontinued speer 165 gr. rn. Will be using them in a 3006 for whitetails under 200 yrds. Will probably load them around 2700 fps. Anyone have any experience with these?

Terry BlauwkampThey worked great in my 308 Win on Deer, and I even took some with me to shoot Impala too.
Never recovered any as they all exited. I used IMR 4895,
and shot 1 inch or less most of the time.

Marlin.444I'll probably load them down a little as I had shoulder surgery earlier this year. Can't wait to try them on Michigan whitetails

As long as you place them in the proper spot.

Colorado BobI just used the last of my IMR 4350 with my last Hornady #3075 180 grain round nose bullets. Got 75 rounds----should last me a while.
I guess great minds think alike

AtkinsonOver the last number of years Ive read in hunting magazines by "experts" that spitzers are better than RN bullets, a flat statement, and I wondered if they ever tried a Woodley or Rem corelokt RN..Two cup and cores back in the day that never failed me or anyone I knew..Even today they rate high in my books, and have yet to fail, more than I can say for some modern "premium" bullets! oh my
