Ruger American predator 6.5 creedmoor
I have a ruger American predator chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. The muzzle is threaded and has a 5/8-24 thread. I am wanting to put a muzzle brake on it. I don’t want to do bring the gun too a gunsmith. Can I purchase a muzzle brake from a online store and thread it on without any problems? I’m looking on optics planet at the tacfire muzzle brake .308 5/8-24tpi compact brake.

Yes you can buy one.

But I made mine for my wife's 6.5 Predator.

41 total ports .187 dia with 30º of seperation for 240º total

The bottom 120º is left unported for prone and truck hood shooting.

I have the same gun. Locally here in PA I got a brake done by HB Tactical. About 100 bucks and screwed right on. They do some different things and their brakes/suppressors actually work to improve accuracy as well as reduce recoil. Not sure how they do it but they do and they work. I've seen it first hand on several guns. Check them out. https://www.hbtaac.com/

If you look on Brownell's there are a ton of brakes for 5/8-24 threads.
