280/333 Caliber
280/333 - - Does anyone know this caliber? How does it compare to a stadard 280 Rem?

I suppose ammo/dies are hard to come by?

Thanks for any info.

Well!

The 333/280 Jeffery is about the same as a .280 REM, but, there is a but, the old jeffery has more casevolume than the REM so it will duplicate the ballistics of the REM with lower pressure. I am having a .333 jeffery built and many have asked why? The .338win is more powerfull! But it`s not allways about that,
isn`t it? If you want the old .280 jeffery which is powerfull enough by modern standard, then its only one way... GET STARTED thumb
Brass and dies can be obtained from different
places. Triebel in Germany can make you the dies and chamberreamer, and Dieter Horneber can make the brass(it may take awhile).
M good friend Arthur Smith has or use to have a .280jeffery(original) I believe. Send me a PM if you would like to talk to Arthur about the .280 Jeffery. Good luck with your project and this very rare/exciting caliber. cheers
If you can find some .333 jeffery brass it could be necked down and then fireformed.
