GrenadierNice. But someday you're going to have to put the bolt in the rifle.

Bear CatNice wood , I thought it would have a nice raised cheek piece , but that would have made it even heavier ! Nice gun , hope it shoots well .

JPKGood looking rifle.
Might be able to take some weight out of the butt by hollowing it out some.

SnellstromI've never seen or heard of a "lightweight" Super Grade?
Is it stamped as such on the barrel or floorplate?
Very nice rifle and nice wood.

BoxheadIt is a special Cabela's run, for their 50th IIRC.

lalFine looking rifle, great calber too! Have fun! What is the twist on that beauty?

ColoradoMattIt is not a 50th anniversary model, just a limited run for 2013. They made an identicle model in 257 Rob in 2012 that is a 50th model and it has deluxe blue and gold inlay on the floor plate. I believe the twist is 1 in 9.5", but not sure.

SnellstromVery nice rifle the barrel contour looks identical to the featherweight and lightweight rifles I have.

OngweThey're just a featherweight barreled action dropped into a trimmed down supergrade stock. No metal crossbolt, no cheek piece, shorter forend and a red decellerator.
I like mine, but haven't got to shoot it much yet.
Anyone want to buy a Cabelas engraved floorplate?

Exactly, and the barrels do not say "Super Grade"

Jerry HooverI had a bad feeling before I went into the hospital for a major surgery, so what did I do ? I went and bought a new rifle? The Cabelas limited edition model 70 super grade featherweight in 7x57. The wood isn't flashy, but beautifully tight grained with good figure. I mounted a Zeiss Conquest on it and when my health allows, we will find out if it shoots as good as it looks. I did find that my hand loads for my Ruger RSI in7x57 will not fit as the RSI has a much longer throat and no magazine to control overall length. I will try to shoot some factory loads this weekend so as to have some brass to play with. If anyone has a suggestion as to bullet and powder, I would appreciate any help you can give. I am planning on this being one of two rifles to be taken to Africa in 2016. Thanks again for any advice. Jerry Hoover

Jerry HooverAlmost forgot to add,I will start off using 150 grain Swift Scriccos as they have given the combo of decent velocity and in derive penetration in my TrSI. Thanks, Jerry Hoover

AtkinsonNice rifle for sure. I like them not so lightweight, they hold better for off hand and running shots, especially when your out of breath and at my age that's more often than not!

A7DaveI'm not trying to rain on your purchase, but it is a shame it didn't get a better checkering pattern/job. That wood is spectacular and deserved a top checkering job. I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with the gun, just that the checkering isn't on par with that amazing stick of wood!

WstrnhuntrIt looks like the recoil pad fitting leaves much to be desired as well. Really nice looking wood though. It deserves better craftsmanship..
I love my 7X57! Enjoy!
