SwarovskiKimber
Does anyone have any experience with Kimber? Good and Bad! I have purchased a Kimber 8400 Montana 270 WSM but am currently getting some warranty work done on it.
Any information would be appreciated!
I purchased the rifle at the Shooting Edge in Calgary, Canada. It was the last one in stock and they have been selling like hot cakes apparently. When I was buying it I noticed that the barrel was off centre toward the forend of the stock channel and asked after questioning them about it decided to take it any way. I got it home and tried to run a dollar bill under the barrell and it would not pass without some persuasion. I then proceeded to try and chamber some rounds and found that it was noticeably abrupt and required excessive force when feeding the chamber. Thus, I contacted Kimber and they suggested I take it to a local gun smith to work on it and said if I was to send it to them I wouldn't see it for a year (border crossings and permits). So, I called the Shooting Edge and told them to call Kimber. They did and the solution was to send it away to Colane Sports for a rebedding and feeding work all supposedly covered by Kimber. It has been about two months with a few calls to Corlane as they are super swamped but I should be getting it back in just over a week.

M70classicHey Swarovski,
Welcome to the forum! Where do you hail from if you are using Corlane Sports to work on your rifle. I am from Fort St. John, which is about 45 min from Dawson Creek, where Corlane's is. As far as I know, they do good work. I know that they have great customer service for normal merchandice.
Good luck with the Kimber,
regards,
Graham
I have a Kimber 7mm-08, and a Kimber CDPII 45 handgun that I carry on duty. I have also owned a Kimber 243. IMHO Kimber makes a fine weapon that is ready to hunt with out of the box. All of the Kimber weapons I have owned have been extremely accurate.

SwarovskiThanks for the replies guys!
I am from just south of Calgary, Alberta and we don't have any corporate gun smith's around here that I am aware of. Every gun smith around here seems to work out of there home and the Shooting Edge suggested Corlane, which I have heard many good things about (except the wait time).

El DeguelloMy hunting buddy had a Kimber African in .416 Rigby. It was a superb rifle, but he traded it for a Dakota Model 10 in 7X57mm. This is another superb rifle!
