Accutrigger replacement?
Fellas

I have a lovely Savage model 14 in 250 Savage and the trigger is not working at all. Is there an after market piece I can get to replace the Accutrigger?
Thanks FS

I still have some trouble with the accutrigger on my 12 BV-SS, even after the factory replacement. I'm glad you posted this thread. If someone knows of a GREAT replacement I may also get one. beerroger

Half a dozen different makers but...most of the aftermarket triggers use the factory trigger hanger and if it isn't true, the problems won't go completely away.

Sharpshooter's Supply makes the only Savage trigger I know of that eliminates all the Savage parts and attaches directly to the actions. The bad part is they have to true the action first to install it. The particulars are on their web page.

I'll second SSS, but we never had to do anything but drop ours in. There service can be alittle slow some times. But the trigger is very nice.

I have six SSStriggers in Savage/Stevens rifles.
I put it right up there with Jewel for the Savage/Stevens application. None of my rifles required any work beyond installation.
By the way, Congrats on the 250 Savage. I love all things 25.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

I don't know if you can replace the Accutrigger with a Timney or Rifle Basix trigger. Sharp Shooter Supply offers two triggers the Competition and Evolution trigger. The Evolution trigger is the one that you need to have the action trued and timed.

The competion trigger is the one I use on my varmint Savage rifles and it cost around $100. It is a great trigger but it only adjusts from 2lbs to 12oz. This IMO is too light for a hunting rifle. I like the Northland Shooters Supply tuned three screw trigger for hunting rifles and it only cost around $45 for the last one I bought.

I decided to send the rifle back to the fellow I bought it from.
I see that in the 2011 catalogue the model 14 American in 250 Savage is still available so I'm just going to order a new one. FS
